10mph sign.jpg

"10" mph speed limit sign, re-imagined in the colours of Fernando Alonso's helmet and the Renault R26

£175.00

This is a genuine, de-commissioned “10” mph Road Sign hand-painted in the colours of the 2006 Renault R26 and Fernando Alonso’s helmet and then aged to show some of the original colours and reflective parts of the original road sign underneath.

It measures approx. 17.5 inches / 45cm round.

The Renault R26 was the car that Alonso won his 2nd Driver’s Championship in in 2006, finishing 13 points ahead of Michael Schumacher. The team also secured the Constructor’s Championship by 5 points from Ferrari.

The livery of the car was based on the “Mild Seven” Japanese brand of cigarettes colour scheme and logos, with 2006 being the final year of their sponsorship as tobacco advertising was banned at the end of the season.

Alonso’s helmet was based on the colours of the “Mild Seven” company and the Spanish flag.
