"20" mph with Speed camera road sign, re-imagined in the colours of Jacques Villeneuve's helmet and the Williams FW19

£250.00

This is a genuine, de-commissioned “20” mph Speed Camera Road Sign hand-painted in the colours of the 1997 Williams FW19 and Jacques Villeneuve’s helmet and then aged to show some of the original colours and reflective parts of the original road sign underneath.

It measures approx. 28 × 16.5 inches / 72 × 42cm.

Jacques Villeneuve’s helmet has 5 main areas, an indigo blue area, then a black separating line, a pink area, then a yellow area, then a green area, another black separating line and a red area and finally a black base line.

1997 was his second year in F1 and he won the Driver’s Championship after a fierce battle with Michael Schumacher. The Championship was controversially decided at the final race at Jerez when, battling for the lead, Villeneuve tried to overtake Schumacher, who drove into him, causing a crash. Villeneuve managed to continue and finished third, giving him enough points to win the Championship.
